The Trustee Tool Kit for Library Leadership
The Took Kit was created to introduce Trustees to the role and responsibility of their new position. It clarifies the differences between advisory and administrative boards and provides direction and context for boards within California government.
Library Board Effectiveness Training
This is a 3-hour workshop provided for trustees upon request. A visiting trustee conducts a discussion of trustee activities and answers questions about methods and procedures. The library director participates along with the trustees in order to get everyone on the same page. Many boards have repeated the workshop over the years as their board membership changes.
Trustee Tips
These may be used to stimulate in-depth discussion of topics included in Training sessions, or to cover topics pertinent to trustees beyond those included in the training curriculum.
